Does anyone know of a good way to lower the snail population in a marine aquarium? I have a 75 gal. reef tank with fish and mostly soft corals(i'm just starting to add hard corals). During the day there are only a few snails out, but at night when the lights are off there are hundreds of them. They look like tiny abalone with flat shells. They are all fairly small right now, but I can see that some are getting larger. They don't seem to bother the corals or really eat anything as far as I can tell. I'm just worried about their numbers and size increasing.

Sounds like stomatellas and there numbers should rise and fall with the amount of food available. I wouldnt worry about them but if you want try pulling them out and passing them on to another reefer, most reefers I know never seem to have enough according to them.
