Hello all!
I have a 60 gallon tank with 4 gold fish. Two 50% water changes a week and an air pump with two large airstones.
I have one goldfish that will go to the top of the tank and eat air. He has *turded* out air before too which is weird to see. In any case, none of the other fish have this habit. I test the water regularly and have no problems there. The fish in question I have had for nearly two years in the same tank. It is well and truly cycled. I try to take care of my goldfish as if they were discus. They are fed only the best of foods.
Why does he do this? I have two hoods on top of the tank so it is not as if it is open to the air. What can I do to get him to stop eating air? He is very active, no scratching himself against the plans. No swimming on his side, no visible injuries. Is it possible that my goldfish is just plain stupid?
Would a screen top work better?
Suggestions welcome!
Thanks
