well.. after reading about keeping your pH at a certain level.. I'm having trouble keeping it above 6.2 i done the 20% water change i done 50% water change. I cleaned the gravel. I added Correct pH( only makes my pH stay at 6.8 for 3 days). fishes look fine. but my plants do not.

I don't have trouble with my Oder 20g tank the pH there is always at 7.0

Ok...
1. Take a reading of your source water. see where your starting point is.
2. Can you list the item in the tank.. not the fish but decortations, plants and tank size.

thanks

source water 7.5 or so

40g i have several live plants. 3 amazon sword about 10 torta's, 2 palms, aqua fin root decoration, 5 sleet rocks, and several polished rocks. oh and the snails :D

I'm not running co2 for fear that the ph will drop to much and kill the fish
