I found this cool shaped piece of wood in the mountain and I want to know if I can put it into the tank. Actually, I already put it into the tank, but I'm questioning my decision. I boiled it for about two hours and cleaned it really go. Did i do it right or should I take it out.

Edit: By the way it was very dead and very dry when I found it.

You did what was right by boiling it.... but I would have also let it sun bake for a week or so just to make sure than soaked it to get alot of the tannis out...... Susan is correct with the caution about it being green....

Agree with above, and will only add that as long as it is a typical hardwood or fruitwood then it should be fine. Avoid evergreen wood, like cedar, as they will leach toxic oils or resin into your tank, unless they are very, very old or have been in a bog forever.
