Moving babies, The Krib story continues

Heya gang,
I am readying a tank to move my baby Kribensis to. I wonder if it would be safe to just suck those babies out? It seems kind of brutal but if I can do it without hurting the babies it seems like it would be so much easier than netting them. I don't want to kill them though. I'd appreciate your experience and advice. What do ya'all think?

Thanks in advance

Long as the tube is big enough not to hurt babies. I use to do that getting bristlenose fry out.

Omg that is to cool. I took off the giant siphon and will just use the tube. Did you do it straight into the container or into a net?
Container
Yea I've accidentally siphoned baby guppies from my tank. Always good to check your bucket before you dispose of water change water.

Hehe to Kurama and I only got a little tank water in my mouth and didn't swallow. :p

The baby move went well. I started out with the larger siphon attachment but it just wasn't giving me quick suction which was needed in this case. I switched and just used the tube, worked like a charm.
I got all but one and he or she is quite wiley, hiding near Dad.
Speaking of Dad, when I first got him he had a slight split in his tail, I was just admiring how well it had healed yesterday, was nearly perfect.
Key word, was...Poor Dad..
It looks like Mom beat the hell out of him and his tail is really split and missing a chunk. My word, feisty little Mama. I would have thought she'd chill down with the babies removed but I guess all the activity pissed her off.:rolleyes:o_O
So far I haven't lost any babies and it's looking good.
I will of course keep up on my water tests but I was able to start the tank with one of my seasoned Sponge filters so I don't anticipate any trouble. Fingers crossed
Hope all are well

That's good. Can't wait to see the babies!
You asked, you got it. Not the greatest video but here they are. When I pan to the right you can see them munching a pellet three times their size. Total pigs.
Enjoy

The Krib story continues. It's been maybe 8 days since I moved the babies to their own tank. They are thriving and growing bigger each day.
I went ahead and ordered some Brine Shrimp eggs and will be trying my hand at hatching some for the babies and treats for the big guys.
I read that feeding that will promote faster growth.
As I was cleaning brown algae out of the Krib tank, yes it has it to, I picked up one of their caves to wipe the gack off of it, Dad was very reluctant to swim out so I figured I'd better check it before cleaning it. I shined my high powered min mag into it andddddddddddddddddd, it was full of eggs.
These guys waste no time. Eggs already?! rotfl
I will be supplying the local fish stores with Kribensis for the foreseeable future it seems.
It's pretty darn cool really :D
Free babies should anyone want some ;)
Here is an updated video of my little piggy Kribensis, a new sub Phylum, Pigisis Kribensis. :p
They are getting bigger each day and already have one semi bully, it's to cute watching him or her
Enjoy

More Krib news. After moving the babies, Mom and Dad wasted no time getting busy. Eggs laid on the 9th, Mom and Dad brought them out today.
Thankfully it is a much smaller batch of babies. Mom is so cute, they amaze me at what great parents they are.

Here's a clip of the babies at two and a half months.
They are looking like real fish and ravenous all the time.
Gonna have to send them out to get jobs :p

Awesome. Glad your having a good time breeding. My guppies and shrimp are having a field day also. 😋
