Well, researching for lights for my tank I came across led based lights.
Most setups i have seen online have pure white ultra bright leds in them. Obvious advantages are long life for the bulbs so no spectrum shifting, low power consumption and almost no heat.
Any body ever used these?
Do they provide light in the right spectrum for a heavily planted tank?
If it is workable then I might try to make my own diy setup
. I calculate about $25 worth of material for my 65 gallon.
