It's that time of year and I'm getting the pools and stock tanks ready for yet another summer of fish over production.

This year I've gotten a late start but have two tanks and one pool ready. When I was working on my stock tanks I discovered that my Gold Lease Killies survived the winter. That was great news as the indoor colony did so poorly I had to add normals to save the genes. Least Killies (LK) are the first fish out the door in spring. This year I'm going to do at least 3-4 colonys outside. Due to their breeding style, drop 1 fry a day for a few days, they will need a good head start.

This year I'm also doing Chillie Endlers and here again they are very temp tolerant. I'm thinking of putting them in one pool and one stock tank.

My list of stuff:

Lk's
Chillie Endlers
Creamsicle Sailfin Lyertails
Mixed-Marble, black, silver, red sunset, silver sailfin lyertails
Red Tail Black Variatus
Marigold Variatus
Marigold Wag and Painted Marigold Wag Swords
Some other sword, hoping for Koi or showa
Blue Alleni Crayfish
Marble Crayfish
Cherry Shrimp
Albino Aeneus Cories
Either Blond or Bumbble Bee Endlers-Or both room permitting

Yes, here we go. The large pond is repaired (glued with Karrosserieklebeband). All ponds are slurried, pumped full to maximum. 8 mortar bucket (90 liters). Fertilization with grass cuttings in bags. Now the mosquitoes can get.
Some goldfish have overwintered. If it is a little warmer, I'm doing a the blue crabs.

We have had some heavy rain and it has knocked a lot of pollen into the pools. The water is getting a yellow ting, so I'll do another massive water change on them over the weekend. I still have 1 stock tank from last year to restore, 2 new stock tanks to set and 2 new P-1 pools to set up.

On a positive note, I have the least killies ready for their new homes and will start stocking them Saturday. Once that is done I'll prep the first round of Chillie Endlers and hope that I can get them out by next Thursday. At the same time, I'll be prepping the a few Alleni-Blue Crabs-for a test run. I'm planning to add 2 pairs per pool. I have an entire box of 4" PVC plastic pipe sections and will place a good number in each pool. There will also be leaf litter so everyone can hide when necessary.

Here is my little pond. There are a lot of leaves and seeds of the big tree inside. Alder cones. The water is brown and sour. But if I add lime correct, then it is neutral and there are nutrients.

Well after much delay things are partially up and running outside. I have the 4 stock tanks ready and 1 pool so far. I have 3 more pools to get up, filled and cycling. I moved the location of all but 1 of the pools and have had a real issue with the ground not being even close to level. Me and a few bags of pool sand will fix that this week. I've got 2 weeks until fish come in. Due to the short timelines, I'm cheating using Stability to seed bacteria into the fresh pools. I'm also using the giant biological filters I've built. I'll update with a photo or two late next week.

UPDATE:
Well the brooder stock was scheduled for this week, but my supplier wasn't happy with two types of fish so she is getting them from another farm. Shipping will be next week. A few things on my stock list have changes. Gold Tux Platys will take the place of the Marigold Variatus and Pineapple Swords are subbed out for the Marigold Wags. These subs were made due to the size and quality of fish available. Nothing tragic just change in plans. I am getting a load of cherry picked Koi Swords.

I did put out the first fish tonight and providing all goes well will release them in the morning. Chillie Endlers, more Least Killies and Alleni. Provided everything is good on Monday I'll stock in significant numbers of all of the above and the first Bummble Bee Endlers. My goal is to get the all indoor fish slated for outside out before the brooders get here Thursday.

I have 3 P-1-Pools 6'x6', 4 - 150gal stock tanks up and going. I still have the P-2 Pool and maybe a small P-.5 4'X4' Pool to go. I have 2 more stock tanks ready when I need them as well. I'll keep the thread updated, here goes nothing!

My goldfish and alleni I have put into the pond. I'll see in the fall, which is still there. They were in the water 20 ° C
