I just got done spray painting my tank hood/cover/trim with krylon fusion paint since thats safe right?

My question is I have had my aquarium gravel in our garage for about a year (in a bucket/not covered) and now that we are re-setting up our tank is it still safe to use? Would it be like contaminated or anything? Or would it be better just to buy new gravel?

I don't know if this will answer your question, but I had a 55g that tanked (fish all died) about 7 or 8 years ago. I kept the gravel in 2 covered 5g buckets, one was dried out, the other was still wet. When I set it back up again, I dumped the gravel in the tub, filled it up, swished it all around, drained the water (whew it was nasty) and put it in the tank, and I had no problems.

If you think it got contaminated, soak it and maybe add some bleach, then rinse well and soak again in tap water to soak out the bleach (adding some decholr wouldn't hurt), and then use it.
