Hello,

I am back to my aquarium hobby as I love fishes and it relaxes me to just watch them swim.

I did a lot of reading on nitrogen cycle and fish care before adding fish to the tank but stuff happens and when there are live fishes actions needs to be taken very fast.

I got a 40 Gallon breeder and have below fishes:
8 Neon Tetras
2 White Mollys
2 Dwarf Gaurami
2 Cory Catfish
5 Zebra Danios

Recently added one male betta to see if they would be compatible. But ever since I got the betta he has been laying low.
intially I thought it will adjust slowly as he was all alone in that small cup.

On closely monitoring I found yellow patches on him so have isolated him and added mela mix.

today I observed my zebra danios are also having yellow patches(Image attached)

I had cycled the tanks more more than a month using fisheless cycling. Using Fritz liquids and confirmed water parameters using master kit. During water change after getting fish the cycle for reset causing an ammonia spike. Now I am able to see the nirites and nitrates which are on lower side. Will perform a water change but wanted to get some guidance which medication is recommended as I am worried all my fishes might be infected.

I tried looking up your dilemma, hon, and they mentioned something about yellow grub? I never had this certain issue myself...hmmm...you just added your Betta Baby; right? Maybe he was sick and then your poor other babies just contracted it from him...hmmm...
I know, I just feel awful for those little guys, living in frickin little bowls...ughhh...smh...sad...
Keep me posted if you find anything out for I love to learn new things!!😃😃

Ok so I think nothing is wrong with the zebra danios. They do have a yellow edge which I initially did not observe. When one fish gets sick, one gets extra critical 😀.

I was able to take a photo of my beta fish which is clearly sick. Please recommend how I should heal him. It looks like he has pop eye and some fungal infection as there is yellowish layer under his mouth and where the fins start.

Hi! Me again!
I'd get some fungal medicine, myself, and also try a salt baths, my friend! You'd be surprised the quality that marine salt has; you know?
I Always place Seachem Brackish water crystals in my aquariums, ALWAYS! I definitely trust this product! We swear by it! We never have issues with parasites, Ich, anything! Just a food for thought, my friend!😃

Also lots of water changes will help. The betta needs a good clean environment.

Thank you very much for following up. Unfortunately my betta died today morning, I added some aquarium salt and observed for a lot of time, when I checked in the afternoon he was floating around. Felt really sad all day.
