I found something stuck to the filter intake but when i tried to remove it, it floated away. I only see 3 fish. They are zebra danios. I am supposed to have 5, but one is a hider. I'm thinking I should do a water change right away. The meter I have suction cupped to the front of the tank says Live NH3 is at a safe level. This is an ammonia monitor. The meter is by Mardel.

I'm sure a small water change wouldn't hurt if it has been a while since your last. If your fish is fairly new, which I think they are, doesn't mean something is wrong with your tank. Fish suffer a lot of stress in the whole shipment and tank-to-tank movement that can kill them.

Not a big fan of your ammonia monitor. Seems like a glorified test strip, but I don't have experience with one. I guess to learn my trust I'd have to do side-by-side comparison between it and the liquid API test.

I tested my tank with the liquid tests. PH 7.4, Nitrates 0, Ammonia 0 It seems the fish might just not have been doing well.
