It is about 3' long, 12" wide and is a root (many arms going many ways)
I am putting it into my 60 gallon. But it is too big to boil.

Any suggestions on how to make it suitable to put into the tank?
Any tests I can do (low cost) that will see if its okay to put in the tank?

Please any suggestions!
I can take a picture of it too if needed..

Thanks :)

You could always go and buy a 55 gallon drum and boil it in the backyard i guess:)

Wow that sounds like it will look superb. I just finished a post all about using and treating wood on my site. But to summarise for your case just soak it in a water butt or similar clean large container for a couple of days to help it sink. Change the water every day or so until it stops turning brown (unless you want the tank water soft and brown) and it will be fine. Good luck and gave fun aquascaping
