Hello!

29 gallon freshwater
about 3 years old
Red tail black shark
Danio
YoYo loach
Chinese algae eater
Tiger barb
couple of cory catfish
gold barb

Actually here for a question. Hopefully someone can answer it here or I'll post later in another section.

My tank has recently begun to evaporate onto the wall. It's leaving some white water marks and the lid has become quite crusty. What's up with that? About a year ago someone knocked one of the spacers off of one of my two hanging filters and we had a "leak" problem. I fixed that but now my tanks seems to evaporate a little quicker and has started this crust formation/wall watermark thing any suggestions?

Thanks. I look forward to snooping around.

Welcome to the forum. I have that white crusty stuff along some parts too. I think because the water splashes onto the equipment and when it dries the minerals remain on the equipment.

hi welcome to the forum
what you are seeing on your tank and wall is calcium deposits from the water evaporating. the top of my SW tank is absolutely covered in this stuff but it doesnt hurt anything.
