Hi! My name is Vexi ! I got into fish keeping in July of 2021 after my dad gifted me a 12.5 gallon starter aquirium kit. Neon tetras were my first fish and I still have most of the very first ones I bought! They are all called Oscar from a inside joke with friends :) (Sadly have lost 3 due to a case of a dropsy and coming home to the other two had suddenly died while I was work :( )

I also have 5 bronze corydoras (One is an albino I called goblin he in is my icon!) Who all just recently moved into a 23 gallon tank after growing out of the 12.5 gallon I raised them in with their neon tetra tank mates.

I think they have calmed down since the transfer but one or two of them are still glass surfing. I'm not too worried as all perimeters are ideal but if anyone has advice in helping them settle better I'm all ears. They have some java fern in the new tank, 3 hides (As well as a large driftwood they can use to hide behind) and I've kept the lights off most of the day and kept the tank in darkness. Is it true they'll feel more secure with more fish around? I am planning to get oto catfishes and possibly dwarf honey goramis once my Betta finishes his QT and moves into the 12.5gallon (Hoping all goes well and he doesn't bully my poor neons.) freeing up my hospital heater and filter for the next lot of fishies. It's gonna be atleast a month though before I put any new fish into that tank.

Thank you for reading my word waffle! Here's some pics of my fish :)

Hi! Omg! It's beautiful!πŸ˜ƒ
I just love it!πŸ˜ƒ I noticed that you also go with the same description as I do!πŸ˜ƒ I love the "natural" look! I have even found some logs and limbs that I've actually used in our own aquariums! Yeah! I just love the decorating part of our hobby!!πŸ˜ƒ
You do what you want to do in your aquariums, honey!πŸ˜ƒ that's what makes it sooo much fun!!πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ enjoy, my fish buddy!
Aawww...bless his little heart!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ was he being "a bad boy"? I have a 40 tall with 5 large Freshwater Angelfish in this one and boyyy! let me tell you!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ we call them The Stupids; right? Because they fit their name. They've bitten me a couple of times as well and they are ALWAYS at each other! We scold them allll the time! They're sooo frisky!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Hi fish lady!
The cories have settled down wonderfully! They still run off the second I approach the tank but I think my cories are just shy little guys in general...I'm thinking of getting a few more to make their school up to 8 tho maybe that'll help? I also recently put my Betta into the Cory tank and they're getting along great!

Sadly lost a lot of my tetras to a diesease tho :(

Hi, there!!πŸ˜ƒ it's Grrr-eat to hear from you!!πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ
Awww! They are adorable though; aren't they? I just love them!πŸ˜ƒ you are? I'm green!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ hey, maybe I will too!! At one time I had like six but the nitrate spike took out all of them except 2...hmmm...soooo I might join you!πŸ˜ƒ I don't know about 8 of them though; we'll see!!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ who knows when it comes to little, old me!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
We have a new family member arriving tomorrow though that we are extremely psyched over!πŸ˜ƒ A baby Fahaka Pufferfish that's coming Egypt! Everything's ready for him. His name's Sumo!!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Are you serious about your Tetra babies?? Seriously? Awww...maybe it was a stupid spike too because I lost all but 1 of my Black Skirt Tetras; year but we've replaced them since though....

I have bronze cories myself! They get pretty big so I have to defiantly think this over as I do want Otocinclus too!

And sadly yeah it's true :( I think it was finrot that got them. As the water came back 10 Nitrate 0 nitrite 0 amonia. But they just began to die one by one in the night it was awful! I've only two left now. And they're not eating so it's not looking good sadly

Hi again!
Mine our green which they too are on the larger side as well...
Fin rot? Hmmm...you could get some meds in there for this isn't too bad to handle...what a bummer...are you doing your water changes, hon? Not accusing, just thinking... I had to step up my own game because I am like over these nitrate spikes and our poor babies dying; right? We have 7 aquariums for now and I clean and change water every single week! Yep! Actually, when I get up tomorrow, it's time again, and our babies are soooo much more healthier and happier and NO MORE NITRATE SPIKES FOR US!!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
