Hi all,
I'm new to the board and relearning a hobby I reluctantly gave up 25 years ago. Had a 30 gallon tank when I was in university, and loved it. Kept neon tetras, dwarf gouramies, and a spotted pictus. Haven't had an aquarium since, but decided this Christmas that it was time to recapture that mesmerizing pleasure I remember enjoying.
Bought a Via Aqua 11 gallon open top for the bedroom, and stocked it with 9 Green Barbs, 2 Gold Gouramies, and my old friend - a spotted pictus. I know it's a high bio load, but I'm running two filters, monitoring conditions closely, and changing water frequently. We're currently moving along well on the nitrogen cycle, with ammonia down to near zero and nitrite cresting. Should have a mature tank before long.
Looking forward to learning lots with you all, and I've posted some pics in an album for you to check out.
Don
