I have some green water in my tank I need to get rid of.
So the pet shop guy tells me to change out about 20% of the water every day.
Since I'm going to be using tap water should I be adding water conditioner every time?

I have a 30 gallon tank and 3 little koi

(just a temp place for the koi until they get a little bigger).

Yes you should always treat tap water to remove chlorine/chloramine. Koi are heavy nutrient loaders (they poop a lot). You may need a UV to help get rid of the pea soup algae. Try keeping feeding to the minimum necessary for now, do water changes. But I think you'll end up with a UV.

The UV will claer it up nicly but you still need to do the WC's and stop running you lights so long and check to make sure you not geting alot of natural light from a window on the tank. generall green water is an algea bloom caused by to much light.
