Got a cool plant for my tank

Hey guys,
when to the LFS this arvo and picked up 2 more small scissortails.
I also picked up a cool plant...no name or anything to identify it by.
There was only one as apparently the store manager bought the other ones LOL.
Here's a photo of it. Its a bit dark because i didnt want to use the flash that close to the glass but you can still see it ok.
The Neon Tetras have to know what's going on and i couldnt get a shot without them in it LOL.
Its still in its pot until i sort out where im putting it.
Anyone know what this is?

At least at your lfs you can see the plants first hand and pick the healthiest ones.
I had a bad experience with buying a couple plants at my lfs, one had bearded algae the other had MTS. Lucky for me I spotted the snail before putting the plant in and the algae was just on that plant so it was yanked and tossed.
Its to bad cause they are so close but Buce Plants have been very good for the most part.
Cool adventure ehhh
Yeah, that's always a bonus GG.
I think i irritate the staff at my LFS sometimes 'cause i like to take my time when buying plants. They stand around and get all fidgety and so i wait a while and then finally say, "its ok, i'll let you know when im right" and they walk off all pissed
I always do a Hydrogen Peroxide dip before placing the plants in the tank.
Although, i was that keen to put this new plant into "its spot" i just put it straight in the tank without treating (5 mins later, oh s**t, too late).
I really appreciate the info Dd, thank you for your help (y)
Im trying to match leaf shape, colour and habit while researching.
Ive also got those two plants in my research list. Its hard to tell as plants seem to have many variations which makes pin-pointing the species very difficult.
I think the new one is as you stated, Alternanthera Reineckii Lilacina, but when i saw the Rotala it left me unsure.
ID-ing aquarium plants definately isnt as easy as ID-ing normal house plants.
I'll be buying more plants but the shop doesnt label them :)mad:) so if you have any suggestions on the plants ID's, please chime in and let me know, id really appreciate it Dd :)(y)
Cheers mate
Will try and help. I buy my plant mainly from buceplant.com I do buy from a local shop when I get to that side of town. But mainly online.

After having a good read, its definately the Alternanthera Reineckii Lilacina.
Plant now ID'd, thank you Dd.
Youve got a good eye for this stuff (y)
Most welcome. I was already looking at some plants on an online vendor so I thought I'd take a gander. Lol

A few others order from buceplant.com on here also. Sometimes the plants do come smaller but they can grow.

I checked out Buceplant.com and its a really cool website. I enjoyed looking through all their stuff.
The Anubias in my tank came from an internet company here called The scape shop. Their Anubias are first class, very healthy.
Theyve got a decent assortment of other plants too but nothing like buceplant.
The Scape Shop's stock is always very clean and healthy...the reason i buy from them when i cant get what i want locally.

That's awesome. Where I'm at I have to rely on internet to get what I want. The pet stores kinda suck here to be honest. The good ones are too far of a commute.
I must have hit the download button twice with the photos?

I forgot to mention, i also got 2 more scissortail rasboras.
They are only little guys but i like to watch them grow.
I put them in the tank, they did a lap very close to the bottom and then they noticed the other scissortails (mid to top dwellers) and shot right up there and kicked back with them.
The two newies are quite inquisitive and like to suss the whole tank which is encouraging the other ones to follow suit.
I didnt expect that but its great to see because the others are a little reserved so its very positive...YAY!
I would say, if youre going to get scissortails, get the young ones as they seem more inqusitive and less skittish with sudden movements.
I did a reverse image lookup and came up with this: Heteranthera Zosterifolia - Aquarismo Paulista
Looks like a match to me.

Thank you very much TheTK's. Unfortunately, the page wont load for me.
I'll have a look on the net, cheers.

I believe that's it...the lighter, whorls of growth on the ends and its compact habit are spot on.
I was thinking Pogostemon but after seeing this, id say its definately Heteranthera Zosterifolia.

That's a mouth full!
Youve gotta be able to do mouth gymnastics to pronounce some of those names o_O

Take the plants out of the pots and remove rock wool. Not healthy if fish starts nibbling on it.

Thank you for the advice Susan.
Ive been watching the fish since the plants went in for this reason but none of them are going near the rock wool so its all good.
Do you know of an alternative/s if i need to change it over?
Thanks in advance :)
If you want to keep in pots get pots and use gravel to hold down
