I have purchased a Fluval 305 to replace my HOB Aqua clear on my 55 gal planeted tank. My tank is established and I did take out the biomass things from the Aqua Clear and added it in with the ones that came with the 305.

My question: is it ok to go ahead and remove the Aqua Clear from the tank and just go with the 305 or should I leave the Aqua Clear there for some time (and if so how long) before changing completely over to the new one only?

I did a search to see if this had been covered already but I don't think I did an effective search as I got a lot of other information. *#3

Did you have problems with the Aqua Clear or did you just decide to upgrade? I just bought the Aqua Clear 110 for a 75G tank (Its rated for 110G).

Thank you Aquaman. Just what I was wondering.

Nope, no problems with it at all Flyin-lowe. The Aquaclear was doing fine. I just wanted to go to a canister filter. The output nozzle I have moved so that I get better water movement through out the tank.
