PLEASE HELP My betta ruby has been bloated for a while, ive been fasting her but no changes. Swims the same as before, water parameters pH high at 8.2, gH 8. kH 6. I know high pH and gH isnt ideal i've been adding peat granules + pH down to help. 0ppm ammonia, nitrites and nitrates.
I'm extremely worried. Add aquarium salt? I'm getting some peas ready to feed her. Please help. I don't know what to do

How long have you been fasting her?

I wouldn't add aquarium salt in a planted tank, as the plants will probably not appreciate it. Neither will most freshwater invertebrates, should you have any in the tank.

I would go ahead and feed the peas, but make sure you shell them first. After that, I would fast her again for 3 days to a week, or until she gets better.

There are some more advanced techniques you could use, but I've never had to go that far, as fasting worked for me the only time I had to deal with bloat. Some of the other experienced keepers here can fill you in when they see your post.

do not use ph down it will lower the ph for a little while and then it will go back up. big ph fluctuations are very dangerous. a stable ph of 8.2 should be ok for your betta. good luck!
