I apologize first off, if this is the wrong forum category because I only saw fresh and saltwater and nothing for brackish.

I have a brackish setup with Hawaiian Opae shrimp in a 29 gal tank. It's unfiltered and has been fine for two years. I like to keep a little water moving in it, and have utilized an airpump with different varieties of stones in the past. As of late, the bubbles will come out strongly for a few days, and then they almost completely stop or become very tiny, and it doesn't matter what type of stone I use, the normal or the newfangled plastic ones.

Has anyone else ever had to deal with this? Is there a reason for the cessation of airflow? Would the salt be inhibiting this? I'd like to understand what's going on so that I can prevent this problem in the future. If you've had some experience before or know of a good solution, I'd be grateful to hear!

I'd look at the airflow inlet to the stone, prolly salt solidifying right there and cutting off the flow. Also, don't you see all the crap at the top of the tank where the bubbles pop? Your more or less running a skimmer right there, the bubbles will capture garbage in the water column and release them at the top when they pop.
