I have a 54 g corner tank, heavily planted - good water parameters.
Can 3 Discus survive in a tank like this. I know I read that they should be a minimum of 5-6 but I don't want to overstock, I know Discus need a lot of room.
I have not got any Discus yet, I always wanted them, but I want to make sure they are in a perfect enviroment. I know they are a special fish to take care of and I want to give them the best possible care.
I have read and studied them for 2 years now and the perfectionist always say 5 is the minimum. So I am hoping 3 (or4) with a small school of tetras would work. I am working on a some what heavily planted tank .My water parameters have been constant for 2 years now, I change 40% water change every week and sump change (20g) in between.
3- 4 is a perfect number in addition to a school of tetras which will give your discus a sense of stability and peace.
please take into consideration the size and age of your discus.
your water change is very good comparing to the consistency of water you have, i do exactly the same as well
