Re: Cyanoacrolate Glues

The Cyanoacrylate gel glues are safe. I use Loctite super glue gel.

Re: New to planted tanks

Just a couple of corrections to Gizmo's post. The products mentioned should say Seachem Flourish (not Flourite) Excel, or Flourish Comprehensive. Also, Seachem Prime is not a fertilizer - it is a...

Re: New Tank!

For a nano tank, the Spec V is a nice tank. I have 2 of them, one on a kitchen counter. Mine is black but they are available in white.

The Fluval Edge looks nice and sleek, but from a lot of...

I've used both of these:

Re: New 47 gallon column planted build

Just a suggestion. I'm not familiar with the filter you have but you might consider a prefilter sponge on the intake, especially for a stronger filter. Shrimp could get sucked into the intake and...

Re: New 47 gallon column planted build

The footprint of the column tanks make them look really sleek, but present issues for stocking. Most fish use and need the length of a tank rather than the height. For sure, the congo tetras would...

Re: Ghost Catfish problemn/question

But this article pegs it at 6-8 yrs -...

Re: Post your shrimp tanks here!

Yes, shrimp would like to climb all over those plants and wood decor. They actually will "swim" also throughout the tank.

Re: Post your shrimp tanks here!

I agree with this. They will climb all over the place if they have the plants and wood for that. In the Spec V the outflow nozzle is at the top of the tank, and I usually have 5-6 shrimp all over...

Re: Post your shrimp tanks here!

Not sure I understand your first question about water level. If you mean tank size, you could start a colony in a tank as small as 2.5 gallons. I have shrimp in two of these Spec V's (5 gallons),...

Re: Guppy and endler question.

As SusanKat said above, have a plan in place for the young guppies and endlers. Think seriously about this endeavor. Guppies are not easy to get rid of and it doesn't take long for the fry to...

Re: Questions about Red Cherries from the LPS

You can do better going on-line for RCS. Check Aquabid. Many times you will find offers for 20 shrimp for $25, which includes shipping costs and usually a couple of extra shrimp too. Whether or...

Re: Need help stocking 29 gallon.

I'm not sure on pricing but I would guess they might run about $10-15 per fish; might be able to find a pair for $20 if you could find a breeder with a lot of fry.

I think you could have 6 of them...

Re: 5 Gallon assassin snail tank

I added my first assassins to a 25g tank several years ago to take care of pond snails, which they did very effectively. I think I started with 3 or 4. I've just left them in the 25g over the...

Add some zucchini or yellow squash - leave in for a day, then remove and replace. No need to blanch, just add in raw.

Re: Need a new crown jewel (fish) for my tank. Suggestions?

The pearl gourami is larger and also supposed to be peaceful and can stand on its own - does not need a group.
