Re: Ph problems

How long has the wood been in there? Wood leeches tannins and will lower the ph easily. Are you using straight RO? you need to add some dechlored tap to, or something to add the minerals back, so it...

Re: Is this 40 Tall Overstocked?

Pleco and cats need to go when they get larger. I would mention bristlenose plecos for a replacement and a small school of corydoras. For now as long as they do the water maintenance, it should be OK

Yes, it is Seachem Prime. It is one of the best water conditioners.

Re: Stressing Out About New Aquarium

It depends, honestly on the tank. Some take longer than others but at least a couple weeks.

I am not familiar with the Top Fin conditioner, but I suggest Prime if you have ammonia in your tap, as...

Re: New Member and need help with what fish to add

I suggest this as well. I like to stay more understocked. it gives the fish more room, and you more room for errors, that wont destroy the entire balance of your tank.

Re: Stressing Out About New Aquarium

You are cycling. The only thing to bring those params down is more water changes, large ones. 50% daily since you have fish.

What conditioner do you use? Note that Prime will bind Ammonia, but it...

Re: glofish

Glofish are a trade name for several different species, so it would be useful if you could tell us exactly what they are? Once that is determined we could easily tell you the best care for the eggs. ...

Re: fish suggestions

For discus you would need five unpaired fish, a single fish or a pair. You don't have enough room for five of them, so unless you can find a mated pair, one with some small dither fish would be ideal.

Re: Water Changes

I would do ten to 20 percent weekly( So one to two gallons each time) if you have live plants in there. Just a bucket of conditioned tap to replace it would work.

Re: Restocking tank ideas

Me being me, I would suggest a pair of bettas, like pallifinas. They are gorgeous, and would get along well with the cardinals. Just need a lid where they cannot jump and plants.

Guppies would be...

Re: How long do fish (Neon Tetras) live?

No signs of any diseases? Any chance something like windex or the like has gotten in the water? Ask your city ( If you have city water) if they have done anything different.

Yes curious as well! Is this like the Python, or is it new technology? Looking for something to easily manage my reef.

Re: How long do fish (Neon Tetras) live?

Five to ten years, but we are not sure the age they are when we buy them. I would say if your setup is all on par, then it has to be something like age as opposed to disease. Do keep an eye on it...

Re: newbie, 5.5G & 5 male guppies

They should all be fine in the 20 as long as you keep up your water changes. The main issue is depending on the glow fish, some prefer cooler temps, Being a hybrid of the zebra danio. However some...

Re: Bulges on Bettas' Neck

What about ammonia? PH levels are there, just the number is dependant on your water source. If you do not have nitrates then the tank is not cycled. The temp is also way too low for bettas, you...

Re: Need help with sick betta

Fast him. Does he use the bathroom well? he is very bloated. I would look into a master test kit using the liquid as the strips are very inaccurate most of the times.

Re: Betta Heater

I would look for a 50 watt heater that is adjustable. You really want the temp closer to 82.

Re: Betta Food Frustration!! Please Help!

What pellets? Truth be told they are better for them than the flakes, because flakes cause more bloating issues. If you are worries, soak the pellets a little before feeding. I steer clear of freeze...
