Re: wjars the situation here

The dent suggests salinity shock. I've had 2 serpent stars do the same thing. Both lost parts of or entire limbs and both slowly recovered and have since regenerated. And FYI, it could get worse before it gets better. I had one go into a hypertonic posture for well over it recovered is beyond me. I have since started drip acclimating my stars for at least several hours and for as long as overnight depending on the salinity and pH of their shipping/transport water. I've since had much better luck. It doesn't take much of a salinity change to mess up the osmotic pressure inside a starfish, thus killing tissue.

My ph is 8.2 ,0 phos and nitrate , dkh 10. Cal 460 , all my shrimp are alive and well , as well as my nems , and lps , I don't believe its a water issue , I think it was just doomed but didn't want to write it off to quickly without asking.
The only negative is temp issues those pc lights get hot. I already molested my LEDs and have them in the fixture operational and it works beautiful but its not enough to blanket so I still use the PC's also for balance and I'm leaving my access panels open , I just need an led mod .
I'm peaking at 83.2 and can't get it under81.7-82.3 , a chiller seems excessive considering it cost more than the whole setup .
I doubt though the temp killed it that quick.
Another friend saw the pis and said it looked as it a parasite hosted it.
Any chance iv got a grimlin in my cube ?

wjars the situation here

Is this star creating a life partner for itself of just dieing.
Yesterday it had a small dent on its head today its like it split down the back , its still moving but not a lot.
I got it healthy on wednesday , the fish shop (i called) said its either splitting or dieing thell take it back , but I don't know what to look for
