What in the world is this!? Very interesting

Don't know how I haven't seen this guy even after 3 months. Just need to know if I should put it in the sump or kill it?

Ya just looked up bristle worm, looks exactly like it. If this is the same bristle worm I saw two days ago, Im going to torch it! Two days ago it was barely able to be seen. About the diameter of a needle and skiddish.

At least I know where the dead hitch hiker crab (the bad kind) that I saw tucked in a tight spot upside down. Wasn't worth tearing apart the tank risking crushing my tiger shrimp, so I left it, knowing my CUC would take care of it. But I guess I know where it went now!

Not so sure that is a bristle worm, but i would kill it if you could.Looks more like a worm that feast on coral?Eventually all reef tanks will have bristleworms, they are the real CUC,and not really alot that can be done.Bristles don't bother much that I'm aware of as long as they are small. That is a good sized worm and i have read that even large bristles can/will eat coral among other things.
Do a quick search of "coral eating worm" as i believe this is a different species.

Ya it was slow moving and got it out. I know bristles are small and actually real good for diversity. I was watching 1 the other night eat the tiny pieces of coraline that fell off the rock. Whatever this was, couldn't of been any good and wasn't taking the chance. I dissected it after I took it out and it did have the crab in it that I was talking about.

Wow that is interesting. I have been trying to search on Google to find out what it might be, but I have no clue. I think that you did the right thing in getting it out though, especially after you found out that it already ate the remains of the little crab.

Ya I'm almost positive it was a "coral eating" worm as coral bandit stated. But ya it had a "hairy" inside it. As interesting as it was I didn't want to risk it grabbing ahold of one of my fish or corals because I would of been quite unhappy lol
