Re: Need help ID'g

He dosen't have enough rays on his dorsal fin to be Brochis Splendens. It looks like a plain old Cory dorsal fin. Could he be a hybrid? Instead of saying "Huge" a real measurement would be more helpful.

I take that back. On google search in images, look at brochis splendens and there are some that have shorter dorsels. Some are more green, some more silver. So--- maybe. Either way it is a cool and perfectly content looking little fish.

He did give a real measurement, 4 inches. And then he also showed a picture of it by a measuring tape. And it has been solved, sorry but you're to late.

Re: Need help ID'g

This one and a companion were abandoned and we adopted them. They were exactly alike. Both were the same size and both had the arched back.
We went around to 3 fish stores today and concluded they are peppered. I am hoping the one remaining schools with the new littler ones.

Re: Need help ID'g

I have had several peppered corys through the years and they have reached 4 inches. Mine lived 10 years. Lost the last one about 6 months ago.

SUCCESS IS MEASURED BY YEARS, NOT MONTHS!!!
220 Tank build + 62 other tanks.

Re: Need help ID'g

I hope it's ok to say this, but when I first saw the cory up against that measuring tape I thought "that fish must be on steroids".

Re: Need help ID'g

no doubt ; that is one big cory.and it is very old.many species will get arched spines with age.and without a doubt i agree that it is a C. Paleatus..
