Experiment Pep/Non pep pairing

So i was always told that common/albino bn do NOT breed with peppermint bn. I have not personally ever had this happen even when i kept them together
Yet elsewhere there are photos appearing of fry apparently from an albino/pep cross....and many doubters. Apparently there is only a pep/albino adult in the tank sooooooooo

I am gonna do an experiment.

Tank 1 - Male pep and female albino/common

Tank 2 - Female pep and male albino/common

Unsure as yet wether the non pep will be a common or an albino until i pick them up from the local fiskeeper donating them to the experiment.

The pair will be the only fish in the tank, so there will be no doubt as to who the parents are if any fry result

Stay tuned

Re: Experiment Pep/Non pep pairing

Interesting. If they are both sp. ancistrus I see no reason why they wouldnt breed. Very interested to see the outcome.

70 gallon- Betta Enisae pair, betta Ocellata pair, female Betta Pugnax

29 Gallon- Betta Pallifina and Betta Patoti

20 Gallon- Betta Gladiator

5 Gallon- Betta Channoides

And numerous Betta Splendens

Coming soon: Betta Macrostoma :D

Re: Experiment Pep/Non pep pairing

They are both ancistrus i believe, still meant to be a different species, so resulting fry would be hybrids

They vary quite a bit in sexual maturity and growth....
