Cichlid favorite veggie

I keep severums and festivums amongst many others, but these two are by far my favorites. I'm always trying different veggies as snacks for these two destoyers of planted tanks. Well I tried cantalope a few weeks ago and they go nuts for it. It's like they know I have it when I walk in the room and then they devour it. Basically I just cut it into chunks, freeze it on a cookie sheet (with wife's permission of course) then bag it. Every other day I take a chunk from the freezer and slice it into thin pieces. My sev's just inhale it but the festies will swim around with it hanging from their mouths until they can find a quiet place and enjoy it. Anyway, most of you probably aready know this but I felt like sharing.

Bolivian rams, blue acara, mating kribs, green and gold severums, firemouth, festivum, killifish, salvini,etc,..

I'll have to try it. I feed peas and corn to my severums, geophagus and uaru. I take frozen corn or peas and microwave it in water for 1 minute.

I've never tried fruit. Cucumbers and zuccini have always for the bill. I'll have to see how they like the cantalope.

I feed my convicts all sorts of squash and cucumbers. I'll have to give the peas, corn, and cantalope a try soon!

Watermelon has also become a favorite snack of my sevs. The school of tiger barbs attack it too.
