My Discus Pair ate their Eggs!

My yellow discusautolinker.com autolinking image was the newest member of my show tank. It was released from quarantine and is staying in the show tank last week. Suddenly on Valentine's evening. I saw the yellow discusautolinker.com autolinking image spawning on the driftwood! Next to it is the pigeon blood. But right after the yellow laid eggs on the driftwood, the eggs were eaten by the pigeon blood! There are times when they both gobble up the eggs together! They keep watch on the other discus to warn them to stay away. The pair ate the eggs as they were laid until there is no more. I believe this may be the first time the yellow discus laid eggs. It was only 4 day that the yellow and the pigeon blood met in my show tank. They didn't show any sign that they are a pair so I was so surprised that the spawning happened with those two. My show tank PH is 7.2. If you can watch the video I captured of this experience and let me know your thoughts on why this egg eating may happen. And should I move those two its own tank? I don't see them hanging out together too much so I am wondering if they are really a pair or could they both be females?

I have a video of the spawning on my blog if you can check it out.
