Exclamation HELP Aquarium Chrash!

Today while my family and I were moving new furniture into my new house my my worst nightmare went down :( My father was passing my prized two month old 225 gallon aquarium that housed my baby ten inch silver (and two 5 inch plecos) with the new couch and when he turned it upright and lost grip 225 gallons of water flooded the house which is costing me serious cash to repair. Now to the fish, four inches of water or so was remaining in the tank when I got to it and only one of the plecos was on the ground.

Right now I have managed to do all I can for these fish, all of my money is going to home repair pretty much for the next two months. The only setup I am able to use for the three fish. Is a round 30 gallon container. It is around 20 inches deep, 24 wide and across. I placed a 60 gallon HOB filter on the setup, added gravel, plants\rocks and I have the water chemisrty just right. The fish in been in the setup for eight hours and the aro is feeding and acting just fine. keep in mind its a ten inch siler aro and two five inch plecos..

All I want to know is will this setup work for two, three months max (worst case) as long as I perform weekly %100 water changes? I feel like an animal abuser but I have no other options, can someone please let me know what to do to save these fish? :\

Passion doesn't begin to describe it..

trying to get better pics, I'm on my mobile and uploading through the full site.

I added rockwork for the plecos and the aro is much less skittish around the rocks and devils ivy. Taking some pics to help you see the fish size and swimming space asap!

Re: HELP Aquarium Chrash!

You will most likely need to do daily waterchanges. Any chance you could get a second tub like that to place the oscars in? I know its a hassle but the health of the fish is the priority of course.

So very sorry this happened, its a fear of every fish owner.

Re: HELP Aquarium Chrash!

I don't have Oscars, just the one arowana at ten inches and one five inch pleco. I moved the other pleco, my friends say I'm freaking out and ill be fine for two months with weekly %100 water changes... you guys don't think so?

Re: HELP Aquarium Chrash!

Thought the oscars were in there... I think you still need to do more than weekly on such a small container, especially with a pleco. Every three days is what I would do but thats just me. I do believe he will be ok, but be sure to check for signs of stress during this ordeal. Good luck with him.

Re: HELP Aquarium Chrash!

IF you're near a Petco, I think their $1 per gallon sale is still on. Could you (maybe with help from your father) scrape together $40 for the 40 gal breeder tank for now? At least this would give you some length to work with rather than the round container.
