Ctenopoma eating binge

I've a leopard ctenopama in our blue gourami stocked 75G. The only thing I've seen him eat is earthworms, which was very exciting the first few times. He's about 2" and gets along great with his tank mates. I dropped in 6 small minnows yesterday hoping to get a week or two of watching him hunt. I'm already down to two. I've seen him stalking them multiple times but never eating. The gourami are hogs but show no interest in the minnows. Everyone else is too small to eat one. Is 4 minnows (<1") too many for a 2" ctenopoma to eat in such a short time? I tried pulling the leftovers out when I still had three but gave up.

Bolivian rams, blue acara, mating kribs, green and gold severums, firemouth, festivum, killifish, salvini,etc,..

Re: Ctenopoma eating binge

Some fish will eat themselves to death, not many though. If you don't have a holding tank for feeders I would only feed once a week.If he eats 6 in day(or 2) then he should be good to go the rest of the week.Fish don't need to eat or be fed daily.Especially hunters as nature controls things like that by not always providing (thats why they hunt instead of lounge on couch and munch{like I}).

He's eaten all six now. I even saw him eating the beta pellets I feed my gourami this morning. What a pig!
