75 Gallon Restart (questions)

I have had my 75 gallon in storage for about 5 years now. I am getting a new Fluval 406 Canister and new substrate obviously. It is coated with dirt and cob webs. I can't remember if it is safe to use a regular dish sponge to scrub out the tank with plain water or should I get a stiff nylon brush? I am pretty certain my testing supplies are no longer any good. There is no expiration date, but they are about 6 years old. Also, I managed to misplace the plastic flap things that fit on the back of the glass lids ( i can't recall what the name of them is). Where would I get new ones? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

1.) A regular dish sponge is fine as long as it's BRAND NEW and has no soap scum in/on it;
2.) Yeah, might want to replace that;
3.) They're VersaTops, Dr. Foster & Smith online pet vendor carries replacement parts. Make sure you measure your VersaTop accurately. Link below:

Hope this helps!
