No clue snail or slug????

Okay this has probally been asked a million times. But I have some pics. Not perfect but you can see them. I have two tanks my 55 show tank and a 29 QT tank. I just bought a live rock about three weeks ago from my LFS and now I have some weird snail or slug things. They seem to do fine in or out of the water. As they have been on the underside of my glass cover from time to time. This gave me a chance to touch one with the tip of a pen. They have a hard shell and are about 1/2 inch long with a white foot and not a totally dark shell might have some white spots but it could be sand too. They also have antenas and travel on the glass pretty fast. They can cross the front of my 29 high in like 3 or 4 mins. Question is? Are they good or bad. I have a purple tip Anemone in there as my fish did not like him in the show tank. So he lives alone in my QT tank he does real good. I put some tank bread) clowns in there with him but sectioned off the tank so they could not get to the anemone without me watching. But something happened to the clowns by 2 am. They were laying on their side on the surface and just floundering around. So when I saw them not doing good I quickly got them out and although it was the middle of the night I did not have time to sit awake and aclamate them to the show tank. So I just slowly 15 mins or so moved water to their container and them put them in the show tank. Within 15 mins they were doing great and swimming just fine. They ate the next morning and have been doing good ever since. The water in the QT tank is perfect as is the show tank. Could these snails/slug things be making the water toxic? Something that does not bother the anemone and something I cannot find doing watwer tests. I have a canister filter and UV light and protein skimmer on both tanks. They are ugly looking and I really do not like them but if they are good for the tank I will leave them. Hopefully you can tell by the pics what these are. I do not want to even QT anyfish right now after what happened to the clowns.

Stomatella Snail
They are harmless. Good things to have in the tank, as their population will only grow to the size of the tank they can handle cleaning.

Re: No clue snail or slug????

That is great news. I was about to give them the one way trip down the crapper. What to you think caused my clowns to get all stressed but bounced back once they were in my show tank. I have done water changes and everything seems great in the QT tank. I even tried a yellow tail damsel in there and again it looked like it was punching out in a few hours. Back to the show tank and in mins it was fine. Could it be the anemone causing something? He is really healthy and has not stung the clowns or the damsel.
I dont get it.
Thanks
Dave

Re: No clue snail or slug????

What do you have running on that QT tank? May have very low O2 levels, at least for the fish. The Anemone shoukdnt have been the dause of any of the fish issues, yiu woukd have noticed sting marks. Are you running a skimmer? Powereheads? How much Live Rock? How long has it been up? How long has the Anemone been in there?
Can I get the following numbers from yiu?
Ammonia
Nitrite
Nitrate
PH
Alk
Mag
SG
We may be able to put the puzzle together with all this information.
