Lighting suggestion on 10 gallon reef

Hello,

I have a 10 gallon reef tank with 3 clown fish, sand bed, and orange and green mushrooms. Every time I try to add pulsing Xenia's they will do good for a while and then slowly die off. I have a HOB Aqua Clear filter with a power head on the tank. The light I have is an inexpensive LED light which I purchased off of EBAY. I am not sure if the problem is the light or not. I have a 29 gallon tank as well with a different LED light hanging over the tank with no problems at all with the tank and the Xenia's are spreading like crazy.

Any suggestions on what I can try next?

Thanks

Re: Lighting suggestion on 10 gallon reef

You answered your own question the recommended lighting levels would be power compacts in tanks with standard depth (24 inches) with the Xenia placed in the top half of the tank. For tanks deeper than 24 inches you'll need High Output (HO), VHO or Metal Halides.

Need your water params levels, especially phosphate and nitrates, and the coral of your choice likes a bit of both in the water.
Also, I'd not go with less than 1w LEDs on the tank, and thats with all LED units.
