Help with pump mod for skimmer

Ok, so I recently have received a skimmer for a 75g eventual reef build. I got it in a trade for some old autolinking image gear. Well it didn't have the original pump. He did give a pump to go with it. Well with my limited knowledge, and his further limitations on skimmers I thought I could use a small pump with an air pump to achieve the same results. Ya so far not so much. So my question is how can I fix this up to make it work? It's a coralife 65 skimmer and a maxijet 70.

That is the recommended pump.
You need more then just air,
you need a needle/pin wheel pump.It chops up the air before it hits the skimmer body.
Then when you have a needle wheel pump that fits it needs to modified like RM has done.

Re: Help with pump mod for skimmer

You can DIY a venturi and silencer to attach to your pump for a fraction of the cost as well.
I'll get that later.

Success is measured by years, not by months.
