Hang-On-Back Skimmer Noisy?

Hello! I bought the CPR Aquatic Cyclone Bak-Pak skimmer and have had it in use now for about 10 months now. It suddenly started making this horrendous gurgling noise!

I've tried adjusting the tank water level and the air valve, I cleaned the pump/impeller out, and even tried adjusting its angle in relation to the tank (leaning towards or away from being parallel to the tank side). Nothing has worked!!! Please help me. It's so loud it keeps me up at night!

Now, I am accustomed to the hum of the pump and the buzz of the plastic feet against the glass, I've made peace with the constant flow of microbubbles into the tank, but this gurgling noise is absurd. Does anyone else have this problem with HOB-style skimmers?

Re: Hang-On-Back Skimmer Noisy?

Been researching it, seems common problem after a year or so. Some suggest using air tube brush to keep tube clean and also changing the collection cup. Hope this helps.
