Dream fish

What's the one fish you dream of having, but dont? Either because of cost, or because it is hard to come by etc.

OR

If you like one particular type of fish, what are the qualities you'd wish for in that fish if you could make it "perfect"

70 gallon- Betta Enisae pair, betta Ocellata pair, female Betta Pugnax

29 Gallon- Betta Pallifina and Betta Patoti

20 Gallon- Betta Gladiator

5 Gallon- Betta Channoides

And numerous Betta Splendens

Coming soon: Betta Macrostoma :D

Re: Dream fish

Does it count that I already have mine? Both actually.

Years ago (2009) I believe, I was browsing online after a friend was describing "poor man's mac" Curious I looked it up and was impressed. Then I saw pallifina and wanted it too. Now I have both species. Pallifina spawn so easily and hold well! Macs are jerks though.

If i drew it it'd look like a monkey eating a horsradish on the moon or something

Re: Dream fish

You just reminded me. Koi bettaautolinker.com autolinking image and Zebra pleco, and a dinosaur bichir. I know it's proper name but I can't think of it at the moment

Re: Dream fish

My deep knowledge is in discusautolinker.com autolinking image, but now I only have two pairs and some nice juvies from then. It is sad to me that the fish I was passionate about no longer makes me feel passionate. A while back I would have given anything to have large enough tanks to breed Rays. I don't have that kind of money. These days I'm concentrating on Angels, although I find it fun breeding Pearl Gouramies and Guppies.

A fish that holds my interest deeply are the larger Rainbow fish. Problem is, they require totally different conditions that the fish I keep now. I could buy a bunch and make a nice home in a 75 for them. But I know myself. If I have it and love it, I must breed it. Perhaps I'm afraid of falling in love with another fish and having to start all over. Breeding will take tank space from the discusautolinker.com autolinking image and Angels. I don't think I could breed both. I wish I could quit thinking about the Rainbows.

Re: Dream fish

I'd really like to have a couple Electric Blue Jack's or even the standards, both are very nice. I'd really love to have a dinosaur bichir but I'm sure there is no way I could put one together with Jacks even in a 75 or 90 gal tank.....

Re: Dream fish

One of my dream fish is a Black Ghost Knight fish. I love those fish but I read they top out at 20 inches. Way to big for tank I'll ever own.

I love them too! This was a commission for a friend, who had a lovely large tank, and wanted a pic of her fav. fish in there.

Neat picture. Bet she's got it hanging on the wall in her aquarium room.
