Just planted my 10 gal tank

My tank is 10 gallons. Its been set up for abour 2 months and i decided to change to sand substrate instead of gravel for my cory cat. I have a guppy, female bettaautolinker.com autolinking image, zebra loach and the cory cat. I added 1 bundle of ludwigia amd a bundle of bacopa. I will be adding some jungle val but i had to order it because i couldnt get it locally. I did use root tabs.
So my question is before wen i had gravel and fake plants i had the air pump going with a basic stone on the end of air line. Now with the sand i didnt want to disturb the sand with it and i know the plants will provide oxygen. So how long will the plants take to start rooting in the tank? And should i have the air pump going anyway? The loach and cory hang out at the bottom and seem normal and the bettaautolinker.com autolinking image seems normal but the guppy is hangin out at the top probably for oxygen is my guess. What should i do? I am a beginner and im looking for knowledge becuase all my research is not providing me a solid answer.
