That is what I was wondering that way I knew when I had to have it done.

Re: A mini tank contest!

This is a bead that fell off a necklace I made.

I put it next to a penny and my fingers to show how little it is. Using tweezers I put in a folded strand of java moss, sand, and a fragment of a sea shell.

Re: A mini tank contest!

Icant really judge from all the particles floatimg around.

Does the container have to be glass?

No, it can be any type of container at all, as long as it's under 2 liters. For the most light to hit the plants, if you do use glass, use clear glass, or if you use plastic or something else, make sure it's clear.

Re: A mini tank contest!

The tank has cleared up fairly nicely considering I literally dropped a lump of mud and string in it. Defiantly needs to grow in, but looking good and already seeing some growth from the rotala.

LOTS of plants in this, not sure if all of them will come back within 2 months, but here's the initial list:

java moss
subwassertang
E. parviflovorus 'tropica'
ludwigia repens
rotala rotundifolia
dwarf sagittaria
dwarf hairgrass
HC
dwarf lilly

Re: A mini tank contest!

Dmitri, You don't have to enter if you don't want. The point is basically to see how creative people can be with very small things. There is an aquascaper who's name eludes me that has created some magnificent tanks, all being planted but extremely tiny. This is just to see what others can create like this.

"I've macrostoma tastes on a veiltail budget. "

If i drew it it'd look like a monkey eating a horsradish on the moon or something

BORING. This would b more compelling if we could include life instead of designing dull small lifeless tanks
I wouldn't call plants boring or lifeless. Not for everyone, yes. Good for adding a little zen in your life? yes. If you are patient they can be a very interesting addition to most tanks, and like all living things, can be unpredictable. You don't have to enter if you don't want to, but don't knock something before you try it.
