Welcome!! We would love to help. Give us some specs about your tank and your goal.

If i drew it it'd look like a monkey eating a horsradish on the moon or something

Re: New to it

It's a 55 gallon tank, pretty decently stocked too. It was running beautifully, all the fish were healthy, active and vibrant...

Then my Pit Bull decided to eat the living room blind one day, letting sunlight hit the tank for 5-6 hours plus unplugging my Fluval canister, so it wasn't being filtered for that time too.

Well, had a huge pea green water algae outbreak, it was horrible. I have a video on YouTube of day 1 through day 7, it's something to see, lol...

Anyways, got it back under control, and decided to use live plants so that this is less of a chance, plus all the extra health benefits for the fish, not just the gorgeous water.

As a start and a newb, these are what I have picked out for my tank. Pardon me if I don't know the correct names or spelling, some of these are weird stuff that I know nothing about yet.

Anubias, 2 helferi, 1 Amazon Sword, 1 Wendtii Tropical, 2 Telanthera Cardinalis, and I have a red Myrio and purple Cabomba on the way, plus 3 Java moss patches too. I'm using root tabs, liquid CO2 and liquid plant food, adding a little under the recommended dose.

Before I added the plants, I ran phosphate remover through my canister for 2 weeks to wipe out any excess phosphates, nitrates and nitrites, a freshautolinker.com autolinking image clean tank.

Running a Coralife with 2 10k 96 watts and 2 150 watt halide 10k. The LFS didn't have any 6700k Colormax, I'll be ordering one of those in the next 2 weeks. All the bulbs are new, just installed yesterday.

What am I doing wrong right now and what do I need to do in the future.
