Photo Uploads

This feature isn't working for me for the pics i wish to upload. I can not get past the initial screen, and I never see the "Process" button.

Is there a size limit? the upload screen says there isn't one. But I can't upload any of my high res pictures.

I was able to upload a small .jpg file.

Re: Photo Uploads

Hi there,
How are you uploading pics? Are you using the drop and drag or the "Insert Image" URL icon?

Thanks,
Marie, Community Support

Re: Photo Uploads

Awesome, thanks for the response.

I've finally uploaded 3 pictures that I've taken with my phone. The phone is on it's highest setting. I've uploaded the pictures to pb, then had to resize them to something smaller, then link pb to my posts. This process is too arduous.

My attempts at uploading directly to this site consist of
1) From my home pc, Gallary/Upload Photos. Browse for picture, click upload. Screen NEVER continues to the next “Process” screen. I’ve used chrome, and edge and ie10. (I've waited up to 5 mins before, I typically am waiting several minutes before calling it a fail.)
2) From phone. Same process as above, same results. (using chrome)

I suspect the photo files are too large. Following the same process for a much smaller picture, I am able to continue on to the “Process” screen and upload.

I have not tired the drag and drop from my home pc yet.

Ideally, if the files are too large, the files should be auto re sized. I would upload alot more pics to the site if it wasn't this difficult.

Re: Photo Uploads

There isn't an autoresizer that applies to file size, just dimensions. If you're taking 3mb pictures on your phone the system won't accept them correctly due to server limits.

Kyle

This helps. On the Gallary/Upload screen the only mention of file limitations is that there is none.

"Maximum File Size: No file size limit."

But from the "Reply to Thread" screen, there is another link to "Manage Attachments", which has another set of limitations. (below)

You state 3mb limit, which doesn't jive with either location I've found.

It'd be nice to know the limits. Save me from trying to figure it out.

Re: Photo Uploads

The Gallery and attachments are two separate systems, and you've already posted the file size limits for both systems.
