Re: New site look and software upgrade Feedback Thread

Sorry!
Day one and many have spotted tech glitches.
These things happen and I assume you will over come the technical difficulties.
Unfortunately if you think you might draw the younger crowd to your cartoonish new"front" I don't want to blow smoke in your face(you have to be 18 to smoke!) but good luck!
Your overall lack of /to attention and detail can not be overcome by pastel colors(you need better demographics IMO!).
You and Donald Trump need to live EVERYDAY thinking like (living like) the rest of us!
You are too late and too little IMO.
Maybe a little cleanup of the BS post that still remain on this site that have been "cleaned", to be cleaned up may help.
Needing help to push you in the right direction is yet another sign of your lack of "why this has happened to me".
Another poor example of why I spend my time on another forum not owned by VS!
Sorry FA(whoever you are today) as I note you are monitoring this thread.
It only hurts if it is true.

I like the changes I have seen so far. It seems to make the site a little more easy to navigate and to keep up with whatever is current.

I am sorry to hear that you feel that way. We're trying to improve the forum so if you have any tips on what we can do to make the site better, we're all ears

The first day there maybe some glitches but we have been monitoring the site all day and correcting the issues as soon as they're reported. We can also makes changes to the layout and the header of the site if you guys would like. What if we made a header that looked like an aquarium but with real images of fish and plants?

Also you mentioned there are some posts that need to be cleaned up. If you see any posts or threads that are inappropriate for the site can you please report the post so we can look into it.

Cheers,

~ Danniella

No worries, we appreciate all the feedback you can give, without it we cannot fix the glitches on the site. I'm not sure if Mr Trump visits this site but I'm sure he would love the colours in the banner.

Thank you so much for all the suggestions, we will keep them in mind.

Have an amazing weekend

Sorry for the delay, been working. Yes, if you go to Member Introductions (Member Introductions - Aquarium Forum), then click on one of the posts, you can welcome the new folks. The Thanks button is completely different, the only place I know of that you can click Welcome is on this one forum, whereas you can click Thanks to anyone on any thread.

I liked the old layout better too, but mostly because I got used to it. Any change comes with glitches (I work in the IT industry myself, so I know this first hand), and while people try to QA it as best they can, there are always unforeseen circumstances. Give it a year, and you will have forgotten about the changes as well as the way it used to be

Danniella;
thanks for reply!
A couple years late it may be hard for you find offensive threads or for me to flag them.
Try just deleting all the BS post by Jim while he posted under many different names?
You banned him too many times for me to link.
One would wonder why a banned member would still have any post on a legit page?
Nice try !
Glenda;
Are you the good witch?
Sure fooled me!
You need kids to join this forum so someone besides Big B can believe you!
Your two chosen mods have been here all along(WAY Before YOU) and have not removed inappropriate threads.
Yet another desperate plea for post(why you love my post).
It don't matter if it is good or fish orientated to you all?
YOU want post so I offer !

I agree that this now looks cartoonish or like it was created by a 15 yr old girl. Too bad, but it's not where I spend all of my time either. It's really hard to look at. Step backwards for sure.

Re: New site look and software upgrade Feedback Thread

We try not to delete content from the forum unless it is malicious, spam, or contains personal information in it. By deleting content from the forum we create holes in threads which is something we would not like to do. Susan mentioned the reason why some of Jim's are still on the forum. If you see any new posts or thread that need to be removed please report them so we can look into it.

Thank you

This is all crap!! If you delete a post, its still there for a MOD to see, and they can also put it back into view at a later date is thats what they want........ Just so everyone knows, your being toyed with here, for some reason........
And if this is not the case here....Then yall need to get on the ball!! You are way behind if its not done here.

No your wrong once we do a once touch ban everything is gone. Not put into mod section or anything. So its not crap. We loose all the info on one touch as its one touch and clean which removes all posts forever.

His IPs show up in the MOD Page, when you hunt down a name, it links them all together on a search for IP. Or search for a name, and they hit all of them together.

Re: New site look and software upgrade Feedback Thread

I don't doubt this site is technically illiterate but I still see no reason to keep any post from any banned member.
Kind of sounds like a newer definition of being greedy and SELF SERVING?!
With the little activity that takes place on this site(95% side conversations on threads!) I really don't think you have much real use for any of those post except to inflate your numbers.
That would seem to explain why there are so many new members and so few fish related post.
Is buyer remorse possible for "free subscriptions"?

Re: New site look and software upgrade Feedback Thread

The OTBC is an option for Admins and Mods to use. Typically it is used for spammers because it cleans up all the posts made, bans the user, and adds their IP to the banned IP list so they're unable to come back to the forum. In cases with trouble members we try to soft delete the content so it is not visible to regular users on the forum but still accessible for Admins/Mods in case they need to refer to the post for a future issue, like a problem user coming back to the site. We can then link the accounts together by searching for matching IPs and other similarities between the two accounts.

The mods on the site do work hard to keep the forum clean for everyone to enjoy. If you're seeing posts by Jim please report it.
