Default Identify this please

I have these anemone in my nano tank. They came on the live rock I bought. I'm afraid they are aiptasia but they don't have the column so I'm really not sure what they are. I did the best I could with these pics but they aren't very big anemone yet. Under a half inch. Anyway let me know what you think.

~Cheers!

Great pics! I'm not sure but theres another reef crazy forum based here in utah that you could check out and see if anyone there knows if nobody here can figure it out for you. Just look up utahreefs.com | if you need. Since you're so close, you may want to check out the frag fest they're hosting in salt lake on the 7th. I always want to go to those posted on this forum but i live too far.. lol

Thanks for the feedback I hope they are ball, it's better than I thought from previous posts lol. That macro setting worked out great on the cam. I did google ball anemone and some look like them and some don't. They look great when they're fully grown so that would be nice lol

I can't time off during the week on such short notice or I would go to the show! Maybe next time. It wouldn't be a terrible drive. Next year gas may be 5 bucks a gallon so who knows if I will ever make it hehe.

Yeah, that isn't aiptasia for sure. Aiptasia is brown.

I wanted to ask since I just noticed...

On the second pic there's a green corkscrew plant thingy there. Any idea what that is? Here's another pic.

LOL I suppose... Stupid thing keeps knocking stuff over. Kinda wish I got something smaller but was worried the crabs would kill smaller for the shell.

Usually if you get things like nerite snails, the crabs wont go after them. I have about 9 red legged hermits and they actually scoot past all my snails. I have some nerites, turbos, and another i dont remember the name for. I also have an electric blue legged hermit and i was afraid it would go after the turbos but no probs yet.

What stuff is being knocked around? If they're rocks or corals, get some superglue gel (make sure its aquarium safe) and theres also some putty that you can get. I had to use it for my live rock and corals so the snails and hermits wouldnt knock them around.

yeah it's just live rock but the one with the 4 anemone was flipped over the other day. I will look into that puddy. Sounds very useful!

Still no feed back on the anemone? I went to a fish shop today and almost all of the tanks has aiptasia in them. I was like "aren't these guy experts?" lol but yeah this for sure isn't that. It would be nice to know for sure what type they are though for research. Each tentacle has a small ball at the tip. Not sure how common that it but it's hard to see tha in the pics.

Hmm turns out they aren't anemone at all. They are a coral! I saw a picture of one in a forum and it's a type of dendro sun coral I guess. They're not red yet but that exactley what they look like.

That's cool. Either way, I wouldn't worry about it. I would just think of it as, hey, cool free coral!

Just look for things that dont have them on it. I usually only get frags so its easy to know whats on them. Also, peppermint shrimp eat aiptaisia so if you get one, it'll help things out.

was this an answer for your question? if not, ask again bc i dont see it. lol
