i just bought 2 banggai cardinals...they are beautiful fish. however i have had 2 yellow tail damsels and a bicolor pseudo in my tank for just over a month now, and they yellow tails are bossing they cardinals around now. one of them already has a torn up fin. there are more than enough hiding spots in my rock but they are just floating at the VERY top of my tank....their dorsal fins are touching the top of the water.
is my only option to get rid of the damsels? |

I had to get rid of my damsels when I got some clowns 2 weeks ago. I felt bad but damsel fish are jerks. They have a nickname "the devils fish!" I really only got them to cycle the tank. The lfs took them back when I told them they were too aggressive.

Some Damsels are bullies, though usually the Yellow Tailed one isn't. My Yellow Tails get along fine with my Saltwater Mollies. Both seem to have the same behavior code: "You chase me, I'll chase you!" I would move the Damsels.

not my yellowtail. he was the alpha out of 4 fish and he would dart at other fish and scare them into the glass or rocks and chase them around and bite. He bit my clowns lip and that's when i took him out and took him back.

Yeah Damsels can be a real pain, they are small fish with big balls and will even have a go at bigger tank mates, my solution would be to remove the damsels the chances are they will be like this with anything is you put in there.
