ive been searching and i can find it anywhere but i recently pair of gold stripped maroon clown fish. they do their vibrating dance but i have been noticing that part of the fins are missing some have split and some seem like they have been biten off. i went to the fish store and they told that this was fine that the fish were trying to find out which one would be male and female and which one was more dominant. but im still a litle worried. anybody knows .

How big are they? There are not many fish willing to harrass a Maroon Clownfish so I can only guess that the injury is either self inflicted or they are biting each other. If both fish are very young I agree with your LFS. If these are adult fish then they are likely both female and will never get along until one of them is dead.
