Hello everyone. This morning when I woke up my yellow tang and my powder blue tang were dead. Yesterday I cleaned my canister filter and did a partial water change The only thing I did different was changed the salt to Red Sea Pro and I put in another power head. The 3 clown fish are ok and so is my sailfin blenny and a yellow tail damsel so is the orange starfish and snails and crabs. What could have happened. It's so weird just those two tangs died. Also I got one tang out of the tank, but when i tried to get the other the new power head fell and blew the other tang somewhere into the rock work. I can not find it anywhere. So should I take all the rocks out. There is coral attached to some of this live rock. There is about 35lbs. of live rock in tank or do I let the crabs clean it up?

That is ridiculously overstocked.
That said, I have also had some problems with that salt mix. |

It threw my parameters out of whack and (either directly or indirectly) introduced a hostile algae.
That said, I'm almost certain that's not what killed your tangs. Pretty sure it's just that you're massively overstocked. |
