Freshwater Aquarium Photography This is the photography forum for the FW section. It's a dedicated forum to post pictures of some of the things in our tanks, pics of new additions, as well as for great information exchange, tips, tricks, and overall just discussing cameras and photography techniques of our tanks. Learn all about apertures, f-stops, ISOs, macro, flashes, white balance, and anything and everything else that drives us crazy to get a masterpiece shot. Feel free to show off your tanks in here, and plus its a great way for humble people to nonchalantly have their tanks nominated by the other members for Tank Of The Month. Don't be shy!

Default New picts of 100g

Here is a few new shots of my 100g. I had a big empty space in the center which I have now filled with a floating turtle dock weighted down with some rocks.

It doesn't look the best but the fish love the low light area under it.

My Leporinus is nearly 7" long now! (Bottom Right FTS) He is really doing well with the Mbuna and holds his own when he has to.

Surprisingly the two Jewel Cichlids are subject to no aggression from the Mbuna.

I attribute the success of this setup to the many hiding places and things that break the line of sight. Every fish has a place to "getaway"

Current inhabitants:
Mbuna Lake Malawi;

Melanochromis Johannii -- (The Boss) Electric Blue Cichlid
Metriaclima Esthrae -- Red, Albino, OB
Labidochromis caeruleus -- Yellow Lab yes he really did come from Walmart!

African Riverine:

Hemichromis guttatus -- Jewel Cichlid (2)
Synodontis eupterus -- African Featherfin Catfish

Lake Malawi:

Sciaenochromis fryeri -- Electric Blue Hap

Central and South America riverine:

Leporinus fasciatus -- Black Banded Leporinus

India:

Horabagrus brachysoma-- Eclipse Catfish

And finally a common pleco. I won't even venture a guess to what "L" version this guy is.

The tank is filtered with a Fluval 304 cannister, an Aqua Clear 70 and a Whisper 30-60.

Water changes (50%) are done every 7-9 days depending on nitrate levels which I keep below 40ppm. During weekly changes I remove the water from the column with no vacuuming.

Every six weeks I tear down the entire tank, rinse all the stuff and do a thorough, deep gravel vacuum. This takes around 2.5 hours.
