Freshwater Aquarium Photography This is the photography forum for the FW section. It's a dedicated forum to post pictures of some of the things in our tanks, pics of new additions, as well as for great information exchange, tips, tricks, and overall just discussing cameras and photography techniques of our tanks. Learn all about apertures, f-stops, ISOs, macro, flashes, white balance, and anything and everything else that drives us crazy to get a masterpiece shot. Feel free to show off your tanks in here, and plus its a great way for humble people to nonchalantly have their tanks nominated by the other members for Tank Of The Month. Don't be shy!

Default New 100g setup.

I took down the 55g and moved everything/one into this 100g.

The substrate is the pea gravel from Lowes- 2 bags $3.89 ea and one bag from Home Depot $3.39. This stuff is VERY DIRTY and required a massive amount of cleaning before use. It took me four hours to clean it to my satisfaction.

Current filtration is a Fluval 304, Tetra AFS 30-60 and a older Whisper 30-60
There is a rumor Santa is bringing me a new Aquaclear for Christmas!

Nice tank. I wish Santa loved me enough to bring me something for one of my aquariums for Christmas :(

I love the tank. I'm doing saltwater right now, and I think the only reason I would set up a new freshwater is if I was doing a tank like yours, or maybe a small tank for a HMPK betta. What is that black and blue fish?

Sorry about the slow reply, Christmas and all. Glad that's over!

Thank you for the nice comment about my tank!

The name of the fish is Blue electric cichlid - Melanochromis johannii. It is an African Cichlid, a type of Mbuna found in Lake Malawi.

Cool. I figured it was some sort of cichlid, but I'm not familiar with them enough to know specific species.
