Freshwater Aquarium Photography This is the photography forum for the FW section. It's a dedicated forum to post pictures of some of the things in our tanks, pics of new additions, as well as for great information exchange, tips, tricks, and overall just discussing cameras and photography techniques of our tanks. Learn all about apertures, f-stops, ISOs, macro, flashes, white balance, and anything and everything else that drives us crazy to get a masterpiece shot. Feel free to show off your tanks in here, and plus its a great way for humble people to nonchalantly have their tanks nominated by the other members for Tank Of The Month. Don't be shy!

Default I got natives!!!

I went fishing!!! We caught several dozen fish, mostly trout, various sunfish and a couple shiners. We let most of the stuff go, but a few were saved, some for my tank and some for my friend's pond.

Full tank:

Does anyone know what kind these are? Some kind of sunny, which sp.?

Those are nice little Pumpkinseeds, and if mature into males, will be a beautiful fish. Ive found the variety from New York area to be the most attractive. Although will become quite territorial as they mature, You will find most sunfish species in the larger ones to be pretty much like cichlids in their nature. They will probably want bloodworms etc, for awhile, but will easily convert to Hikari pellets as a staple.

Ah, I love pumpkinseeds...if I ever do a native tank they are going to be the first fish in there.

i had a few of these when i was younger, they lived for quite a while in my tank before i released them into my buddies pond...they are an awesome fish to keep with a semi-aggressive nature...these are what got me started on bullheads and once i made the jump i could never go back
