Default 2 New Pumps Cycling Question.

I have 2 new pumps cycling my 55gal salt water tank..its only 1 week and half old....sand just got brown...where exactly should i place my pumps? also my damsel died and bristle worms ate him up....lol. is it ok? i know the ammonia is gonna go up but i heard its ok being i dont have any fish in tank but a few hermet crabs.

brown sand is just a diatom bloom. it'll go away. i wouldnt cycle with fish, better not to kill them. if the bristle worms ate it, that fine, they do that in the ocean anyway. your tank is cycling right now so just wait a few weeks for things to go their course. Check the parameters every other day and see what comes of it. When you get 0 ammonia and 0 nitrites for a few days in a row, you're home free. just add fish and inverts slowly after that.
