Default Wrong Ammonia = frustrated!

Hey all, been a long time since I set up an aquarium. My wife wants one in her classroom so I put together a 10 gallon tank. "Trying" to do a fishless cycle on the tank. Not going so good.

I ended up putting a little ammonia in the tank. Turns out my ammonia foams up if shaken. So, do I need to start completely fresh or can I do a water change(s)? Ammonia PPM was around 4. I just sucked the water out of the tank and need to know if I need to wash everything and start fresh.

Advise?

Thanks

No need to respond to my question. I found my answer somewhere else. I did a complete cleaning and set it back up. Starting all over.

Lol, glad you found your answer.

I was going to say, give everything a really good washing in hot hot water and then start again.

Hope everything works out for you. We'd love to see the tank when it's done. What kind of fish do you plan on putting in it?

I probably just would've did a couple of large water changes. The wrong stuff has been used on here before and it all worked out. Always good to play it safe though, I guess.

This is why I always use a fresh prawn from the grocery store if I don't have any seeded media. ;o)
